We are very excited about the development of mainstream electric vehicles, also known as PHEV and PEV, and believe they should be part of any good energy management system. This is why Visible Energy is working with automakers to develop aftermarket intelligent electric vehicle charging systems for their new electric cars. And other types of electric vehicles, too.
We are also working to make sure plug-in electric cars will provide as much information to their owners as possible, all of which will be displayed by our Energy Management System displays and shared over the Internet, if the customer chooses.
Products under development include smart garage charging stations, power extension cords, a display optimized for electric vehicles, and enabling software.
Customers will receive data about cost of battery charges and we will automate charging at specific times to take advantage of favorable electricity pricing that may be available. Social networking of energy and conservation data will be available.
For charging stations used by multiple vehicles, such as those in apartment and office complexes, we will provide itemized energy consumption and charge-back information. We will also offer collective electricity usage and cost data collection to the vehicle manufacturers.
