The Visible Energy Smart Power Cord is a single socket, retractable smart power cable extension for indoor use. Electricity consumption for the intelligent power cord plugged into its socket is acquired every five minutes and stored for several months. A text display shows power and other usage consumption data, together with status information.

The Smart Power Cord communicates with the home Energy Management System and In-home Displays via powerline communications. Like other Visible Energy smart devices, the electrical socket can be controlled remotely and power usage data and cost information are available in real-time.
