Electricity stored in the batteries of Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEV) or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) can be used in homes during a blackout by connecting the car to the Visible Energy smart charging station. A current inverter is needed to convert DC power to alternate current used in homes. The Visible Energy inverter is fully integrated with the electric vehicle charging station and makes use of stored electricity in the electric cars being discharged.
